Rotherham is one of two new launch sites we have added in 2019. Situated in south Yorkshire on the eastern edge of the Peak District, our Rotherham balloon rides offer up views of both town and country giving you plenty of photo opportunities!
The launch site itself is adjacent to Keppel’s Column, sitting between Kimberworth and Thorpe Hesley. The column was built in the late-18th century and features an internal spiral staircase. It is however now closed to the public.
With a north easterly wind, you may come across Wentworth WoodHouse, a Georgian Grade I listed stately home. The longest facade of any country house in England makes for an impressive sight and the 87 acres of gardens and grounds offer fantastic walks should you wish to pay a visit.
The house has had a varied history having been used by Military Intelligence during World War II and as a Women’s Physical Education College for training teachers.
Tom Hook will be your pilot on your Rotherham balloon ride, giving you the chance to see a birds eye view of south Yorkshire like never before.
